Heletel Greek Electronic Communication is a new company that provides services, develops applications and provides software and equipment to the sector of wireless networks. It was established in May 2002 by Tiletechniki and Terra shareholders as the natural consequence of a ten-year old exclusive cooperation.

This approximation and the know-how of these two companies in telecommunication and geographical information systems (GIS) accordingly has resulted to the creation of pioneer products, such as the complete application for the design of wireless networks for mobile and immobile communications.

For this product software packages of assimilation and wireless network design were used, with information from a wide range of geographical data bases, such as digital ground models, road networks, settlements, demographical and commercial data, residential construction models, building data bases etc.

The last ten years
In the last decade 47 licenses (s/w & modules) have been installed in Greece and in the rest of the world. These allow the use of RF planning tools by EDX Wireless LLC, which is exclusively represented in Greece by Heletel. These tools are accompanied by the equivalent cartographic data. Amongst the users of these applications are the Ministry of Transport and Communications, EETT, HCAA, OTE, ERT, Universities and Technical Universities, telecommunication providers and telecommunication companies in Greece. The users in the rest of the world are Rom Telecom and Armen Tel.

Heletel concludes and expands this ten year-old successful cooperation of the two firms, by providing services, products and solutions for the development of wireless networks for electronic telecommunication.

In the field of AVL (fleet of vehicles) management, Heletel is one of the few Greek companies that has fully developed its own system, namely NVTrakkerTM , that has been on the Greek and Cypriot market since Spring 2005.

The system consists of a terminal appliance placed in the vehicle, a telecommunication server, and the client administration application. The NVTrakkerTM is provided as a self-contained application that is installed in spaces or on a subscription basis, using the central Heletel server.

With the help of this system the tracing and tracking or surveillance of the position of the vehicle in real time is achieved. The depiction of data on modern digital precision maps for the whole of the country (maps of the capitals of all districts are included in the basic package), analytical reports (text/graph) with the daily movement of the vehicles, providing the possibility of representation of the route, surveillance of the vehicle circuits (temperature of the cargo, turning the engine off, panic button, speeding control, other sensors), remote system regarding parameters etc.
